About Us
The U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) funded Rural Residency Planning and Development (RRPD) Program is supporting the development of new rural residency programs in family medicine, internal medicine, psychiatry, OB/GYN, general surgery, preventive medicine, and other specialties as determined by HRSA in future NOFOs.
HRSA funded the Teaching Health Center Planning and Development (THCPD) program to support the development of new accredited or expanded community-based residency programs in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine-pediatrics, psychiatry, OB/GYN, general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or geriatrics that expands the physician and dental workforce in underserved communities.

2023 Annual Grantee Meeting
The Rural Residency and Teaching Health Center Planning and Development Technical Assistance Centers (TAC) hosted the 2023 Annual Grantee Meeting in Arlington, Virginia, at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City at Reagan National Airport. Over 370 attendees came together to connect, learn, and share their experiences regarding graduate medical education (GME) in their communities. Attendees represented Rural Residency Planning and Development (RRPD) grant recipients, Teaching Health Centers Planning and Development (THCPD) grant recipients, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) representatives, partners, advisors, TAC team members, and subject matter experts.
